Koh Tao island is a mecca for scuba lovers from all over the world. We have an incredible array of dive sites - around 30 in total - all within a 40-minute boat ride from FIFTY SIX DIVE’s home base on Sairee Beach.
The underwater topography is diverse, and our Koh Tao diving trips visit as many different sites as possible so our customers can explore a variety of coral reefs, granite pinnacles, wall dives, and artificial dive sites - including the infamous HTMS Sattakut shipwreck.
FUN DIVING WITH FIFTY SIX DIVE
All diving is fun diving, but at FIFTY SIX DIVE we go the extra mile to make your Koh Tao scuba diving holiday as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible:

We offer a VIP service that includes equipment setup, breakdown, and cleaning. All you have to do is turn up, enjoy your dives, and relax while all the hard work is done for you.

We limit group sizes on all of our Koh Tao diving trips and PADI Courses to a maximum of 4 divers per dive leader.

We don’t mix certification levels within groups. This ensures everyone remains within their comfort level and that more experienced divers can enjoy longer dives.

We’re one of the few dive centres on Koh Tao not to cap dive times at 45 minutes. Air supply allowing, FIFTY SIX DIVE customers can dive for an hour (and sometimes even a little more).

WHAT WILL YOU SEE?
Koh Tao dive sites are bursting with all manner of marine life, from small macro critters to ocean giants. The coral reefs surrounding the island are spectacular and provide habitats for vibrant tropical fish, shoals of pelagics, stingrays, eels, nudibranchs, crustaceans, and more. Lucky divers may spot one of Koh Tao’s resident Hawksbill Turtles or Green Turtles as they cruise around the reefs. And very lucky divers may even get to check diving with a whale shark off their Koh Tao island bucket list!
You could easily take a two-dive trip every day for a week and visit different sites and see new marine life every time! We can’t guarantee specific marine life sightings on any of our Koh Tao diving trips. However, we’re very happy to update you on conditions throughout the year and the best times to visit. FUN DIVING SCHEDULE
Our Koh Tao diving trips depart twice daily. Our central location on Sairee Beach provides a picture-perfect departure point, and our divers are always welcome to stick around in the afternoon and watch the sun set over the ocean from our beachside sunset chillout garden.
While weather conditions can sometimes affect our fun diving schedule, you’ll typically have the choice of:

Morning dives - approx 6:30am - 11:00am

Afternoon dives - approx 12pm- 5pm
Because our team teaches several PADI diving courses including Advanced Open Water Diver training and Specialty Programs, we can also offer our fun diving customers night diving trips. In peak season, night dives run as often as every other night. Departing at around 6pm for a 1 dive trip, we typically return to shore around 8.30pm.

If it’s been a while since you last dived, you may need a quick Scuba Refresher before joining one of our regular Koh Tao diving trips.
EXTRA INFO
Scuba diving on Koh Tao is safe, and accidents are infrequent. However, local laws require us to ensure all divers have adequate insurance coverage. Some travel insurance policies don't cover scuba, while others do. Therefore, to ensure your safety and retain our excellent safety record, FIFTY SIX DIVE provides free scuba diving insurance for the duration of your Koh Tao scuba holiday.

Which dive sites will I go to?
We make sure our customers see a variety of the best Koh Tao dive sites during their time with us. If you have a particular spot you’d like to visit, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to schedule it for you. However, ultimately, the decision comes down to conditions on the day based on our captain's recommendation and the experience level of all divers onboard.
What are the diving conditions like?
Conditions vary throughout the year. However, as a general rule, the waters are calm, the visibility is good, and the water temperature ranges from 26-32°C. The free gear rental on our Koh Tao diving trips includes a 3mm ‘shorty’ wetsuit, although many divers opt for a rash vest and boardshorts instead.
Can I sign up for fun diving trips without a buddy?
Of course! We often get couples, families, and groups of friends who want to dive together. But being a solo traveller doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun - and heading out on one of our Koh Tao diving trips is a great way to meet people. And we’ll always make sure you're assigned a buddy and group that is suitable for your certification and experience.
